Bruce Alan August first began making films in high school and since then he has always been involved in media production.  Both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are from the University of Southern California, with the Master’s degree from the university’s School of Cinema.

A lot of his early work was in sound production and covered everything from a stint in a Hollywood sound studio to creating a sound montage for a Beau Bridges directed play.

When personal computers were new to the scene, Bruce found it a natural transition to write audio courses to teach new computer users.  Before the time when video could be played smoothly on PCs, audio was a terrific medium for teaching software and Bruce became the world’s number one selling author of audio based computer training, with his large collection of courses being sold on three continents (written under the name B. Alan August).

But there wasn’t a lot of storytelling or character development in teaching software, so eventually Bruce returned to his first love and began writing and directing video productions.  AugustStar Films began life in the early 1990s and AugustStar Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in 1993.
